Hall County Ambulance Service (EMS) attempts to maintain the fees charged for service at the lowest level possible to provide adequate pre-hospital emergency care to the visitors and citizens of Hall County. Ambulance Service rates are subsidized by tax dollars enabling Hall County to maintain lower than average fees for service. Patients who receive advanced level care and refuse ambulance transport or are transported by other means are assessed a fee of one-half (½) the normal transport fee.

Hall County Ambulance Service (EMS) will file your Medicare, Medicaid, and Private Insurance for you if insurance information is provided. Payment is accepted by check or cash only.

When a patient is transported by our service, the paramedics will ask you for insurance information. If not immediately available, we ask that this information be provided to us by calling our billing office as soon as possible. If you do not have any health insurance, you may want to check with the local social services office to determine if you might be eligible for assistance. If you have no insurance, an invoice will be sent directly to you. The Hall County EMS billing office submits all claims with the appropriate insurance carrier for both primary and secondary insurances. Our office often needs to follow up on the claims submitted to determine if /when the claim will be paid or if additional information is needed.

The insurance carrier maintains the right to deny claims for reasons such as transport was not medically necessary. If the billing office has the appropriate signature in place, we will request medical records and resubmit the claim, if this would substantiate the need for you to have been transported. It is important to know that for Medicare patients, the primary insurance must consider the claim payable before the secondary will pay on the claim.

Assuring claims are paid; as well as any balance due is the responsibility of the patient or their guardian.

If you are transported following a motor vehicle accident, you need to know Hall County EMS does not file automobile insurance. We can provide you with a copy of your statement for you to submit it to your automobile insurance.

If you have an account balance, we will first send you an invoice. We will then send you a statement the next month. If there is still an account balance, on the third month, a statement along with notification asking you to contact our office concerning collections. If you don't make a payment or contact the office after receiving the third statement, your account is turned over to a collection processor for further collection attempts. Once an account is turned over to collections all payment and correspondence should be directed to the Collection Service.
